Research Coordinator I

About the Position USC’s Keck School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, is seeking a Research Coordinator I to join its Cardiology team. The Research Coordinator will support, facilitate, and coordinate the daily activities of clinical research in Cardiology under the supervision of the Director of the Clinical Research Program and the principal investigator. Responsibilities Coordinate with Principal Investigator(s), department, and central administration to ensure research compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies. Collaborate with the PI to prepare IRB and regulatory submissions, informed consent documents, case report forms, enrollment logs, and other study materials. Maintain study files, including regulatory binders, source documentation, and other materials. Assist in the informed consent process, ensuring proper implementation of amended consent forms. Screen subjects for eligibility, register participants, and record them in billing matrices for accurate funding. Coordinate participant tests and procedures, collect data, and complete case report forms as required by protocol. Maintain inventory of study supplies and handle investigational drugs/devices following sponsor protocol. Retain study records in accordance with sponsor and university policies. Maintain ongoing communication with sponsor, participants, and PI throughout the study. Assist the PI with protocol management, problem solving, scientific and compliance reporting, and ClinicalTrials.gov registration. Support project closeout activities, including submission of closeout documents and secure storage of study materials. Coordinate timely payments to participants (if applicable) following university policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (minimum). Combined experience/education may substitute. Minimum 1 year of administrative or research experience. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills. Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work independently or as part of a team. Preferred: 2 years of experience; Coordinator training or knowledge of medical environment and terminology.
