Tax Director

Join a highly respected CPA firm in West Los Angeles as a Tax Director / Senior Tax Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's future. Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of complex tax clients, including individuals, partnerships, S-Corporations, and closely held businesses.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on tax planning, compliance, and advisory matters, ensuring exceptional service and relationship management.
- Mentor and oversee tax staff, providing guidance on technical tax issues and workflow management to enhance team performance.
- Review and approve complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance while supporting staff development.
- Assist in the daily operations of the tax department, optimizing workflow and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic tax planning initiatives, including real estate transactions and entity structuring.
- Contribute to the firm's growth by helping to elevate its leadership infrastructure and operational capabilities.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- CPA license is required.
- 8+ years of public accounting tax experience, with a strong focus on flow-through entities, partnerships, S-Corporations, and high-net-worth individual taxation.
- Proven experience in reviewing tax returns and mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent client communication and relationship management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for contributing to the growth of a boutique firm.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with real estate taxation.
- Background in a mid-sized or regional CPA firm environment.
- Familiarity with modern technology and an AI-forward approach to tax services.
