Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required | 3 of 6 Required Holidays Per Year

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Medical Acute Care Unit serving a general medical patient population
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5/6 on night shift, working collaboratively with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available 24 hours per day
• Monitor telemetry patients using Philips monitoring systems; strip reading is handled by central station monitor technicians — bedside RN strip reading is not required
• Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors, both available 24/7, to support unit staffing and patient flow
• Participate in floating to other units as needed; travel RNs are first to float per facility rotation policy
• Maintain current BLS certification throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• General Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Must comply with a drug-free campus policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility will be subject to a local rate adjustment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a general medical/surgical travel or contract nursing role
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in an acute care setting
• Experience working in high-census environments with PCT support models
