Description: The department has 2 scanners/rooms. Technologists may be floated to a nearby facility, approximately 6.5 miles away. Common types of imaging and studies performed include brain, MRCP, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities. Average number of scans or studies conducted per day is around 100. The department utilizes Radnet and Merge Unity for EMR and PACS. Department-specific equipment includes GE and Toshiba systems. There is a lead technician supervising the department. Registered Radiology Assistants are not utilized. Radiologists are in-house. Technologists are not required to start IVs. Weekend requirements consist of every other weekend. Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday. There is a rotation for call or standby requirements with a 30-minute response time. Scrub color or dress code is teal. Scrubs are provided. A week of department-specific orientation is conducted by the lead technician. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is Cerner. A BSN is not required for this position.
