Your responsibilities include:Greeting customers, discussing service, repair, and maintenance needs, preparing repair estimates, and obtaining customer authorization before work beginsGathering accurate equipment information, including make, model, serial number, hours, and reported concernsCreating, maintaining, and closing detailed service ordersCoordinating with service technicians and the Service Manager to schedule and prioritize workCommunicating customer concerns clearly to service techniciansKeeping customers informed about repair status, costs, delays, and completion datesHelping resolve customer concerns professionally and promptlyReviewing completed work orders for accuracy, including labor, parts, and outside servicesExplaining completed repairs and invoices to customersCoordinating parts availability with the parts departmentIdentifying new parts and part categories that need to be added to increase customer satisfaction levels and checking on back-ordered parts for customersScheduling preventative maintenance and follow-up serviceProcessing warranty documentation and service claims as neededMaintaining accurate customer and equipment service recordsAssisting with service department invoicing, payments, and administrative dutiesAssisting in parts runs as neededMaintaining a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping, shoveling, stocking service displays, and keeping work areas neat and tidy to ensure accessibility and safetyMaintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to and striving to improve safety standards and reporting suspicious activityCompleting related tasks as assignedQualificationsExcellent customer service skillsStrong communication skills, including written, face-to-face, and over the phoneStrong computer skills and the ability to learn new softwareBasic understanding of mechanical systems and repair terminologyProven organizational skills and attention to detailThe ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentThe ability to prepare accurate estimates and perform basic calculationsA valid driver's license with a clean driving recordThe willingness to learn about equipment brand and products supported at Acme EquipmentThe ability to work scheduled Saturdays and extended hours during peak seasons as neededWe'd Love if You HavePrevious experience in service writing, equipment service, automotive repair, agriculture, construction, trucking, or a related fieldFamiliarity with dealership management or work-order softwareExperience processing manufacturer warranty claimsKnowledge of parts, labor rates, preventative maintenance, and service schedulingPhysical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs.Sit, stand, and walk for the majority of your shift throughout the shop, yard, and office safelyBe comfortable working around operating equipment, shop noise, dust, grease, and varying weather conditionsFrequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reachAbout Acme ToolsFor over 75 years, Acme Tools has been a trusted source for tools and equipment throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and online by serving contractors, woodworkers, and DIY enthusiasts top-quality tools from the best brands.
