HR People Specialist

We are looking for an HR People Specialist to join a non-profit organization on a Contract basis. This role supports essential employee lifecycle activities by delivering a welcoming onboarding experience, maintaining accurate personnel information, and assisting with day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, and the ability to keep HR processes organized and compliant.Responsibilities:• Lead new employee orientation sessions and contribute to training efforts that help team members transition smoothly into the organization.• Oversee onboarding activities from offer acceptance through first-day readiness, including background screening coordination, employment eligibility documentation, onboarding paperwork, candidate follow-up, and entry of employee information into HR platforms.• Review HR records regularly to identify discrepancies and keep employee data accurate, complete, and securely maintained.• Respond to employment verification requests and compile scheduled as well as on-demand HR reports for workforce planning and operational needs.• Support adherence to privacy standards and data-handling requirements by following established HR compliance practices.• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure HR administrative processes are completed efficiently and consistently across the employee lifecycle.
