Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides specialized nursing care to patients in antepartum, labor, high-risk, triage, and postpartum units. This role involves fetal heart monitoring, management of high-risk pregnancies, assisting with C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and may include newborn care in delivery. The nurse collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive maternal and neonatal care. A minimum of 2 years of experience and relevant certifications are required, with no on-call duties but floating to postpartum as needed. Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in antepartum, labor/high-risk, triage, and postpartum units.
• Perform fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring.
• Assist with C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
• Provide postpartum couplet care for mother and newborn when required.
• Float to postpartum unit if necessary to support staffing needs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for patient care planning and execution.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Epic charting system.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, ensuring patient safety and quality care.

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in related specialties.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Certifications: AWHONN Advanced or NCC, Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM).
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills in labor and delivery.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience in postpartum couplet care (mother and newborn).
• Ability to perform newborn care roles during delivery.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records system.

• No on-call requirement.
• Floating to postpartum unit as needed.
• Radius of travel limited to 50 miles.
• Facility is acute care hospital with 266 staffed beds.
• Uniform scrub color codes: Navy Blue for RNs, provided scrubs for L&D/OR/Cath Lab.
• Parking available with associated costs.
• Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.

• Weekend work required every other weekend.
• Block scheduling accommodated at manager's discretion.
• Start date: ASAP.
