Position Overview Manager in Training (MIT) supports the store manager and store teams in achieving sales goals, driving a customer focused environment, managing talent and performance, and executing visual standards. The MIT partners in a training program preparing for a store manager position within 3–6 months and is hired with the expectation of relocating to a specific new store or a group of new and existing stores. Responsibilities Customer Obsession Drives and achieves a customer focused store environment; creates and demonstrates fashion focused store environments by delivering product knowledge and fashion expertise; consistently demonstrates awareness for the customer in actions, priorities and decisions; leads by example through utilizing customer service training resources. Driving Sales Manages sales goals by analyzing store performance using historical reports and adjusting plans and priorities as necessary; responsible for the performance of the store team; manages payroll hours; prepares schedules to maximize sales; directs team to use sales driving programs such as associate ordering system and community outreach. Talent Management Makes quality hiring decisions and develops talent networks; develops successors and talent pools; provides actionable feedback; grows and develops talent through company programs; accurately appraises strengths and weaknesses and coaches associates; creates an environment that allows others to reach potential. Operational Execution Maintains an operationally sound store via opportunity audits; minimizes inventory loss; ensures execution of company direction; enforces and follows all maurices policies and procedures; responds to violations and follows HR resources. Requirements High School Degree or GED required; a business or retail merchandising degree preferred. Supervisory experience required in a customer focused environment; fashion industry experience preferred. Proven track record of achieving and setting goals and executing company direction. Experience in hiring, promoting, and motivating talent. Proven ability to lead by example, make sound decisions, and demonstrate professionalism. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Diligence and perseverance in the face of resistance or setbacks. Commitment to a specific store location or a group of new and existing stores. Unique & Physical Requirements Work varied hours/days as business dictates. Able to reach, push, pull, stand, squat and bend for up to 8 hours or longer. Able to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store. Able to operate a computerized register system. Able to move or handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
