Medical Assistant

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights: Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant Location: Chicago-Lakeview clinic Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week) Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts between 8:00AM and 8:00PM, with rotating weekends Required Travel: This role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needs What you will do: Answer phones Schedule appointments Collect co-payments Complete patient registration Provide other administrative support to the physician practice Check in and check out patient Verify insurances Greet patients and escort them to exam room Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit Provide front office support as needed Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight Phlebotomy and injections may be required What you will need: Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required. Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required. Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
