Job Overview

DiMisa Logistics LLC is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Logistics Scheduler to join our growing freight brokerage team.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a third-party logistics (3PL) or freight brokerage environment and possess a strong understanding of freight scheduling, shipment tracking, and transportation management systems (TMS).

This position plays a critical role in ensuring shipments are properly scheduled, accurately entered into our TMS, and closely monitored from pickup through final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Shipment Scheduling & Appointment Management

• Schedule and confirm pickup and delivery appointments with shippers, receivers, warehouses, and distribution centers.
• Coordinate appointment availability and ensure shipments meet customer scheduling requirements.
• Manage appointment changes, rescheduling requests, and delivery conflicts.
• Maintain accurate records of scheduled appointments, confirmation numbers, and facility requirements.
• Communicate scheduling updates promptly to carriers, customers, and internal team members.

Track & Trace Operations

• Monitor and track shipments from initial pickup through final delivery.
• Communicate directly with carriers and dispatchers to obtain accurate shipment updates.
• Proactively identify potential delays, missed appointments, and service disruptions.
• Provide timely and professional shipment status updates to customers.
• Ensure carriers comply with scheduled pickup and delivery times.
• Escalate service failures or operational concerns to management when necessary.

Transportation Management System (TMS)

• Accurately enter new shipments and load information into the company's TMS.
• Maintain updated shipment records, including carrier information, appointment times, reference numbers, and shipment status.
• Update load milestones and document shipment progress throughout transit.
• Verify the accuracy of load details, customer requirements, and scheduling information.
• Assist with collecting and organizing shipping documents, including bills of lading (BOLs) and proof of delivery (PODs).

Communication & Operational Support

• Maintain professional communication with customers, carriers, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel.
• Work closely with freight brokers and account managers to support daily transportation operations.
• Handle a high volume of emails, phone calls, and shipment updates efficiently.
• Resolve routine scheduling and transportation issues independently.
• Assist with additional logistics coordination and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in freight brokerage, third-party logistics (3PL), transportation scheduling, or a closely related logistics operations role.
• Prior experience scheduling pickup and delivery appointments at warehouses and distribution centers.
• Strong understanding of shipment tracking, carrier communication, and track-and-trace procedures.
• Experience entering and managing shipments within a Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Outlook, and other business communication platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain professional under pressure.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high operational standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working directly for a freight brokerage or 3PL agency.
• Familiarity with DAT, carrier tracking platforms, and transportation management software.
• Experience coordinating dry van freight and appointment-based deliveries.
• Familiarity with major retail distribution centers, grocery warehouses, and strict delivery appointment requirements.
• Experience managing high shipment volumes across multiple customer accounts.
• Understanding of detention, layovers, rescheduling procedures, and carrier service expectations.
