Press Brake Operator

Press Brake Field Service Technician - Detroit, MichiganAs a Press Brake Service Technician, you will utilize customer communication skills, and the mechanical and electrical knowledge to repair, troubleshoot, modify and test complex technical problems on Mitsubishi Machining products. This position is travel Monday through Friday, and home on weekends. While travel is mostly regionalized, Press Brake Service Technicians typically stay in a hotel nearby the customers facility Monday through Friday. Travel is primarily throughout the Canada and US, but can be international in some cases as well. Our services are provided on-site at our customer's facilities and via telephone if the situation permits. We train the right people for a successful career in the machinery industry and pride ourselves on customer retention.Essential Responsibilities:Travel to customer locations to diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repairExamine machines mechanically and electrically in order to perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding as neededDiagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephoneCommunicate professionally and effectively with customersEffectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problemsDocument in detail product problems and resolutionsOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Working knowledge of machining and manufacturing processesAbility to use basic hand-toolsAbility to operate a computer with windows operating systemsExcellent oral and written communications skillsAble to be comfortable working with heightsValid Driver's LicenseEducation and Experience:Associates or technical degree preferredExperience with electrical Measurement and inspection techniques (voltmeter, oscilloscope, and other measuring equipment)Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems (ball screws, bearings, gearing, and various way systems)Experience in Mechanical measurement and inspection techniques (indicators, micrometers, gage blocks and optical comparator. Laser Interferometer and ball bar a plus)Working Conditions:Job operates mainly indoors, but is exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud. This position generally has a lot of driving and overtime work. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license is required.Physical Requirements:This job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices.
