PREMIUM NIGHT-SHIFT MED SURG NEURO RN CONTRACT – 1ST TIMERS OK

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel opening for a highly skilled Medical-Surgical Neurovascular Registered Nurse (RN) in Portland, Oregon. Operating within a premier, 536-bed short-term acute care teaching facility, this position focuses on specialized neurovascular and medical-surgical clinical delivery. PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

• Weekly Gross: $1,870.00
• Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,150.00
• Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr
• Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 - 07:00). Bypasses rigid block scheduling formats.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Excellent, stable 1:4 staffing ratios across day, night, and weekend rotations.
• Weekend Coverage: Rotating every other weekend required.
• On-Call Requirements: Yes, if a scheduled shift is cancelled due to census variations, you are required to remain available on-call for the unit.
• EMR Charting System: Epic.
• Clinical Scope & Care Settings: Dedicated clinical tracking across Med/Surg, MS/Telemetry, and Respiratory overflow lines. Specialized patient mixes encompass advanced neurological/psychiatric conditions, Cerebrovascular Accidents (CVA/Stroke), pre/post neurosurgery care, spinal cord injuries, substance withdrawal management, and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
• Core Responsibilities: Proficient neuro skills, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE tracking, IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, and seamless coordination with Rapid Response/Code teams.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience as an RN (2 years of med/surg or neurovascular acute care experience is highly preferred).
• Licensure: Valid Oregon State Nursing License is required (candidates can submit with a pending OR license unless specified otherwise by the system).
• Certifications Required: Active AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are strictly required to clear the portal gate.
• Transportation Mandate: Clinicians MUST possess their own personal vehicle for this specific assignment.

Strict 50-Mile Geographical Local Radius Rule: A rigid 50-mile radius restriction rule applies to this contract region. Local candidates are accepted but will be routed under a localized lower bill rate structure. Regional Multi-Facility Floating Requirements: Travelers must flexibly float to affiliate sister facilities in the region based on skill sets to meet network needs (including Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent). Refusal to float may result in contract termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours. Special Seaside Bonus: Floating shifts to the Seaside facility include an extra +$5/hr incentive, IRS mileage reimbursement, and a hotel if floating consecutive shifts. ️ Upfront Requested Time Off (RTO) Limits: All RTO must be requested up-front during submission. Up to 6 days total or 3 consecutive days can be auto-approved; anything exceeding 6 days requires client approval and may delay your offer. Travelers must commit to working at least 3 out of 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, NYE, NYD). Hard Submission Vetting Checklist: Submittals must include the candidate's SSN, DOB, full RTO details, 2 professional references covering 1 year within the past 3 years, and explicit confirmation regarding any past permanent or travel history with the parent facility network. All onboarding modules (approx. 16 non-billable orientation hours) must be completed.
