About This Role The Staff Nurse in Nursing Emergency Services at Mount Sinai West is responsible for providing comprehensive care to assigned patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and intervention. Highlights Pay: $64.2353/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai West Department/Unit: Nursing Emergency Services - WST Schedule: Part-Time, Day shift What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interviews, examinations, observations, and record reviews. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharges consistent with patient status and inter‑departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) RN who is matriculated in a BSN Program with a graduation date within the year. Experience Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials. Licenses & Certifications Current RN License in New York. Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (Required for L&D, NICU). ACLS certification (Required for ED, PACU/ASU, ICUs, Telemetry Units, etc.). BCLS certification. PALS certification (Required for ED, PACU, Endoscopy, etc.).
