This role focuses on designing and developing production-quality software that drives validation, analysis, and system understanding for enterprise storage systems, at scale, under stress, and in real-world environments. This is not a test role. The ideal candidate works across the stack, partners closely with firmware, hardware, and systems teams, and plays a key role in shaping both technical direction and engineering best practices.Key Responsibilities:Design and build robust software, tools, and frameworks that enable validation and analysis of complex storage systemsDevelop solutions that exercise systems in realistic scenarios to uncover edge cases, performance limits, and reliability opportunitiesDebug and resolve challenging issues that span multiple layers, including application, OS, driver, and hardware interactionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system design, observability, and overall product qualityLead technical efforts within projects, such as driving design discussions, influencing decisions, and ensuring high-quality executionContribute to the evolution of internal tooling, frameworks, and development practices, especially ones accelerating through AI integrationMentor and guide other engineers through hands-on support, code reviews, and technical coachingRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's or higher preferred)6+ years of experience designing and developing software for complex systemsStrong programming skills in languages such as C or C++Strong scripting skills in languages such as PythonA solid foundation in operating systems concepts, concurrency, and system interactionsProven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-layer issuesExperience delivering well-designed, maintainable softwareExperience with storage systems, distributed systems, or low-level system behavior (drivers, OS internals, kernel interactions) is a plusKnowledge and Skills:Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teamsAbility to take ownership of complex problem areas and drive them to resolutionDemonstrated ability to influence design and architecture beyond immediate deliverablesFamiliarity with storage or networking protocols such as SCSI, iSCSI, NVMe, or Fibre ChannelExperience with performance analysis, system characterization, or large-scale infrastructureExperience building tools or platforms used by other engineersFamiliarity with Artificial Intelligence tool chainsWhat We Can Offer You:Health & WellbeingWe strive to provide our team members and their loved ones with a comprehensive suite of benefits that supports their physical, financial and emotional wellbeing.Personal & Professional DevelopmentWe also invest in your career because the better you are, the better we all are. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. – United States of America: Annual Salary USD 160,000 - 303,000 in Colorado // 172,000 - 328,000 in Massachusetts // 152,000 - 349,000 in North Carolina & TexasThe listed salary range reflects base salary.
