Equipment OperatorMaryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Equipment Operator at our Montgomery County Oaks Landfill, located in Derwood, MD. This position's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating equipment while picking up and delivering recycling carts, and picking up and hauling residential and commercial solid waste throughout Montgomery County.Estimated Pay Range: $45,666.23 - $62,791.65Benefits:Health Insurance with choice of medical plan and prescription, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance options, along with flexible spending accounts401K retirement savings program with generous agency matchPaid vacation, personal and sick leaveEleven paid holidays per yearTuition assistanceMinimum Requirements:Graduation from a standard high school or GED plus one year of experience operating heavy equipment. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.Candidate must possess a DOT card or be able to pass a DOT physical. Must demonstrate working knowledge of the essential maintenance checks. Ability to lift 50 pounds.Preferred qualifications include: Knowledge of Montgomery County, previous driver/delivery experience. The ability to manipulate bins/carts of various sizes as well as experience interacting with the public. Ability to use technology such as GPS phone applications, email and Microsoft Suite programs.This position will be open until filled.This position is eligible for on-spot, contingent offers.
