Plant Operator

SUMMARY The Plant Operator oversees production throughout and produce product within quality specifications. Ensures production process operates safely and efficiently, oversee production process of an area of the plant; and the product produced conforms to the quality specifications. Identifies and monitors trends associated with plant production output and quality, and make appropriate process adjustments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with changes or unexpected events. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Takes an active role in the safety program by following safety procedures, and report / rectify any unsafe conditions. Manages throughput (production targets) and produces product within quality specifications. Monitors and troubleshoots process equipment. Performs basic preventive and routine maintenance on the process equipment. Assists with training and development of team members. Improves plant operations by formulating opinions for improvements and sharing them with the shift supervisor. Serves as an excellent safety champion actively promoting Vista’s safety processat all times(a Company ambassador). JOB SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or GED certification 3+ years of operations, manufacturing, industrial or similar experience Strong interpersonal skills The production process is automated, so computer knowledge is desirable Must speak, read and write English at the needed level to safely and effectively perform all aspects of the job WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed inside and outside of the processing plant facility; work in variable weather conditions. Position requires the ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Overtime, weekend work and shift work (day and night) may be frequently required.
