Responsibilities Perform a wide variety of skilled plumbing functions, including the repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of plumbing equipment and systems. Use computer-based information systems. Promote a workplace that encourages safety within the shop and field. Operate university vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment. May be required to use an aerial lift. Report to a Supervisor and actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice, inclusion, environmental sustainability, and delivering great customer service. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, Vermont Journey Plumbing license, and one year experience with a licensed construction plumbing/heating system installation and maintenance plumbing role. Backflow Prevention Device Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within one year. Vermont Natural Gas Installer Certification or ability to obtain within six months. Experience using computers and mobile technology. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and a driver’s check. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening. Desirable Qualifications None listed. Pay Anticipated Pay Range: $36 to $39 per hour. Special Conditions Bargaining Unit Position – United Electrical Workers. A probationary period may be required for both new hires and current UVM employees. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. The position is a 40‑hour work week.
