Automation Engineer I

Participates in the development and implementation of automation solutions using diverse toolsets including UiPath, Visual Basic, and C#. Assists in creating AI-driven automations and APIs to support business process improvement initiatives.

• Assist in developing automation solutions using UiPath's Business Automation Platform, Visual Basic, and C#.
• Help create and maintain APIs with hands-on experience in JSON and modern API development practices.
• Collaborate with senior team members to implement AI-driven automations, including traditional ML models for document understanding and LLMs for advanced processes.
• Participate in testing phases, ensuring automations work effectively and adapt to changing conditions.
• Continuously enhance skills through training and hands-on experience with automation tools and AI technologies.
• Work closely with team members to support automation development projects and initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices.
• Complete other projects as assigned.

• Must possess familiarity with at least one programming language such as Visual Basic, C#, or Python.
• Must exhibit basic understanding of API concepts and JSON.
• Must possess eagerness to learn AI and machine learning technologies and their applications in business automation.
• Strong analytical capacity and detail orientation with ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with senior team members.
• Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. One to two years of experience in software development or automation technologies. Basic understanding of automation concepts and development practices. Working knowledge of insurance or financial industry is desired. Experience with or certification in UiPath or similar automation platforms is preferred. Experience with AI or machine learning projects, even in academic setting, is preferred.
