Project Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a growing mechanical contracting team in Downers Grove, IL. This role supports plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical construction projects across industrial facilities and infrastructure environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys managing construction projects from preconstruction through completion while working closely with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. The team offers a collaborative environment, supportive leadership, and opportunities for continued growth for both developing project managers and experienced construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage mechanical construction projects from planning and preconstruction through final completion.
- Coordinate project activity with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Review project plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, documentation, and change orders.
- Track project costs, timelines, materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
- Attend project meetings, monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain strong stakeholder communication.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $80,000 to $120,000 per year.
- Location: Downers Grove, IL.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical construction projects.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, documentation, costs, and change orders.
- Coordinate materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Support projects from preconstruction through completion.

- Experience in mechanical contracting, plumbing, fire protection, or a related construction environment.
- Project management experience preferred, with consideration for strong industry professionals looking to move into project management.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans, and project documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with construction or project management software is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior project management experience with mechanical construction projects.
- Experience supporting industrial facilities or infrastructure construction projects.
- Familiarity with construction project management software.
- Background coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field labor teams.
