POSITION SUMMARY:
The Economic Justice Program Manager joins a team of community-centered service providers striving to build a Miami where all people can afford to live well, for generations to come. The Economic Justice Manager will provide direct services and manage a team of direct service providers, supporting a portfolio of healthcare access and financial capabilities initiatives such as our DCF ACCESS benefits enrollment and uninsured health care access advising, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, financial coaching, and other programmatic efforts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Prosperity Campaign direct services program staff including providing individual supervision, coaching, performance goal-setting, performance feedback, ensuring service outputs and outcomes are met, and managing workloads.
- Provide oversight to Prosperity Campaign services, ensuring intake and health services are provided in a manner that is consistent with program targets and outcomes plus organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide high-quality financial coaching, in-person and/or virtually/remote.
- Exercise professional discretion and excellent judgment when developing financial goals and action plans that include concrete recommendations for debt reduction, credit improvement, money management, tax preparation, use of financial services, asset protection and the pursuit of short- and long-term goals.
- Provide excellent customer service and timely follow-up to all current and potential clients.
- Use an asset-based approach when analyzing clients’ needs.
- Maintain accurate, complete and timely client records in organization’s data tracking and management systems and adhere to relevant client confidentiality and privacy policies.
- Maintain knowledge of current service trends, relevant public policy issues, and other topics relating to financial capabilities, economic justice, healthcare access, and public benefits, including attending local, state and national trainings and meetings.
- Establish/maintain relationships and identify collaboration and outreach opportunities with community partners.
- Facilitate workshops/education for groups on financial and/or healthcare access topics.
- Monitor client needs for systemic trends/barriers to health and collaborate with Catalyst Miami colleagues to identify potential policy solutions to address identified systemic needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support policy and engagement work, including participating in policy and engagement projects and ensuring services clients have opportunities to get involved in our policy, engagement, and community economic development work.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of independent contractors and consultants engaged to support functions and initiatives within the scope of this role.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervise two (2) employees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, recruiting, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Language: Professional working proficiency in oral and written English. Professional working proficiency in oral and written Spanish and/or Haitian Creole.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Certification or license: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or similar financial certification or education is a plus but not required
- Years of experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of web-based platforms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Able to sit at desk for long periods of time and utilize computer for extended periods
