Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Level I trauma experience required. Preferred experience includes continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration and triage. License: Active state license required. Certifications: ACLS BCLS by AHA PALS TNCC NIH Must-Have: Level I trauma experience. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with EPIC charting. Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. This nursing position requires working three weekends (Friday to Sunday) in a four-week schedule. Travelers should be aware of the high patient-to-nurse ratios, which may vary between 1:5 and 1:6. Ratios could rise to 1:8 depending on the number of incoming patients, especially on holidays. The unit serves as a Level 1 trauma center, stroke center, heart center, and pediatric emergency department. Nursing staff will encounter diverse patient demographics, including infants, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Specialties treated include neuro, cardiac, and high-risk obstetrics. The department utilizes a five-level triage system and advanced nursing guidelines to optimize patient care. Collaboration with interdisciplinary support services is essential to delivering high-quality care. Travelers should demonstrate experience in the management of high-acuity cases and various emergency scenarios. Pre-approved time off is limited, and all time-off requests must be submitted prior to the contract start. Modules are required and must be completed before beginning work.
