Preferred Care at Home is hiring NJ Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs) for short, local shifts throughout Bergen County, parts of Hudson County, and surrounding areas.

If you are looking for a few hours a day instead of an 8- or 12-hour shift, this may be a great fit.

We are looking for reliable, compassionate, and professional caregivers who understand how important every shift is to the client and their family. A short shift never means short on caring.

We understand that caregivers have different scheduling needs. Some are looking for extra hours, some want to work around another case, and others prefer shorter, consistent shifts.

Sometimes 3 hours fit your life perfectly.

CLIFTON
9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
3-hour shifts
7 days available
Choose the days that work best with your availability
$20 - $22/hour
Easy parking

Duties may include transfers, meal preparation, companionship, walking assistance, errands, and light housekeeping.

SECAUCUS
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
3-hour shifts
4 days per week
$23/hour
Easy parking

Duties may include transfers, meal preparation, companionship, walking assistance, and light housekeeping.

This is a long-term case with the potential for additional days and hours over time.

RUTHERFORD
7:30 AM – 10:30 AM
3-hour morning shifts
7 days available
$21–$24/hour

3:30 PM – 6:30 PM
3-hour afternoon shifts
7 days available
$21–$24/hour

SHORT SHIFTS MAY BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

• Already have another case and want additional hours

• Prefer working mornings or afternoons

• Want part-time caregiving work

• Want to combine multiple shorter cases

• Prefer a consistent schedule while keeping part of your day free

We also offer longer shifts, full-day cases, and live-in opportunities, including both short- and long-term cases.

If your availability changes, we are happy to work with you to find cases that better fit your schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid NJ CHHA certification

• Current CPR certification

• Reliable transportation

• Dependable and punctual

• Comfortable assisting with personal care and transfers

• Compassionate and professional

• Strong communication skills
