Job Title: Sr. Associate, Manufacturing Engineer Job Code: 36188 Job Location: Cincinnati ( Batavia), Ohio Job Schedule: 4 X 10 (Employees work 10 hour days, 4 days per week) Job Description: This position supports strategic programs essential to maintaining U.S. Armed Forces' readiness. The successful Manufacturing Engineer will contribute as a member of a project design team, providing technical expertise and guidance in product design and process development. Activities include development of production processes, procedures, and layouts for mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical assemblies. Manufacturing Engineers also support production through operator training, process issue resolution, and monitoring and evaluating existing operations for opportunities to improve efficiency, first pass yield, and scrap rates. Essential Functions: * Analyze engineering design documents and develop the methods, processes, tools, jigs, fixtures, etc. required to fabricate the specified product. * Develop and prepare work instructions, control plans, Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs), and process validation plans. * Lead the set-up and validation of new production lines. * Analyze manufacturing production problems and implement corrective actions involving designs, materials, and processes. * Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing. * Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations. * Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness. * Train production personnel in new or existing operations. * Interface with equipment vendors and specify equipment through writing Statement of Requirements documents. * Prepare capital equipment requests. * Design layout of equipment and workspaces. * Prepare reports and white papers summarizing information or trends related to manufacturing performance. * Conduct capacity analyses, capability studies, and gage repeatability and reproducibility studies. * Actively participate in Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations. * Prepare tooling cost and engineering labor estimates for proposal responses. * Ability to obtain secret level clearance. * Less than 10% travel expected. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. * 4 years or more of work experience related to the fabrication or assembly of close tolerance mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical piece parts. * 6 years or more with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel). Preferred Additional Skills: * Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. * Experience in the defense or aerospace industry. * Experience with pressing, staking, riveting, swaging, potting, electronics soldering, conformal coating, packaging, X-ray inspection, laser welding, robotics, and control systems. * Experience with ANSI J-STD-001, AS9100, and ANSI Y14.5. * Experience with SolidEdge and Minitab. #LI-EN2 L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
