?? L&D Patient Population

This is a solid true L&D/perinatal position. The RN will handle:

• Deliveries
• Circulating C-sections
• Antepartum patients
• Initial newborn assessments
• Immediate postpartum care

????? Ratios

AWHONN standards:

• 1:1 — Pitocin induction/augmentation
• 1:2 — Cervical ripening
• 1:2–3 — Antepartum, depending on acuity
• 1:2–3 — Triage
• 1:1 — Immediate postpartum, first 2 hours post-birth, mother & baby

• 1 year related L&D/perinatal experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Active LA RN license or compact license
• BLS required
• NRP required
• ACLS required
• Current fetal monitoring certification required through one of:
  • AWHONN Intermediate FHM
  • AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor
  • AWHONN Advanced FHM Instructor
  • AWHONN Instructor Trainer
  • NCC C-EFM
