Field Operations Training Manager, Bureau of Emergency Field Operations

Job DescriptionOEPR’s work focuses on promoting and protecting public health through emergency preparedness and response; and recognizes that social inequities negatively impact our efforts to maintain and improve the health of NYC during and after a disaster. OEPR’s employees are expected to align their work with OEPR’s efforts to combat the harmful effects of systemic injustices on communities and work towards the most equitable post-disaster public health outcomes possible.DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:- Manage two Training Coordinators to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks.- Supervise the design and development of emergency field operations training programs and associated materials.- Coordinate with contractors to develop new training materials.- Oversee the coordination and delivery of training programs.- Work closely with the emergency field operations planners and external stakeholders to ensure training program is up to date and complieswith current response plans.- Supervise the development and implementation of a training program evaluation framework.- Oversee the monitoring of employee performance and compliance to training programs.- Serve as lead facilitator for all trainings and spearhead facilitator recruitment, onboarding and engagement.- Assist in the development and implementation of a facilitator evaluation program.- Serve in an emergency role for a public health emergency, as needed.- Participate in Bureau-led emergency drills and exercises.PREFERRED SKILLS:- 3-4 years of training experience or instructional design and development- 1-2 years of experience working in emergency management- Exceptional writing, communications and interpersonal skills- Excellent presentation, group facilitation and public speaking abilities- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency- Creative and strategic problem-solving capabilities- Familiarity with training development software such as Articulate360 and learning management systems (LMS)Why you should work for us:- Loan Forgiveness: As a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal/state loan forgiveness and repayment assistance programs that lessen your payments or even fully forgive your full balance.
