Marketplace Specialist

We are seeking a hands-on, analytical Marketplace Specialist to support the management and growth of our third-party e-commerce marketplace channels. The specific marketplaces supported by this role may vary based on business needs and could include Nordstrom, Macy’s, Target Plus, Walmart, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and other current or future marketplace partners.

The ideal candidate has hands-on marketplace experience and is comfortable managing the day-to-day operational and performance aspects of assigned marketplace channels. This person will analyze marketplace performance, identify opportunities for improvement, maintain and optimize product content and presentation, troubleshoot issues, and work cross-functionally to support marketplace growth and operational excellence.

This is an execution-focused role with increasing ownership and independence. The Marketplace Specialist will work closely with the Marketplace Manager to execute marketplace strategies, manage assigned responsibilities, and provide insights and recommendations based on marketplace performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day marketplace activities for assigned channels, ensuring products, content, promotions, inventory, and other marketplace requirements are accurate and up to date.
• Support the execution of marketplace strategies designed to achieve sales, growth, profitability, and operational objectives.
• Monitor marketplace performance, including sales, traffic, conversion, advertising, inventory, returns, and other key performance indicators.
• Prepare and maintain weekly marketplace reporting and identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze marketplace data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Marketplace Manager.
• Manage and optimize product listings, including titles, descriptions, attributes, keywords, categorization, pricing, and other marketplace-specific content.
• Maintain and optimize product imagery and creative presentation to improve visibility, conversion, and overall marketplace performance.
• Support marketplace marketing and promotional initiatives, including promotions, campaigns, merchandising opportunities, and other activities designed to increase traffic, visibility, and sales.
• Monitor product listings and marketplace pages for accuracy, availability, content quality, and compliance with marketplace requirements.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve marketplace issues related to product setup, content, brand management, customer service, fulfillment, and account performance.
• Work directly with marketplace support teams and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve routine and escalated issues.
• Monitor inventory and product availability and partner with internal teams to address out-of-stock issues and support marketplace demand.
• Coordinate with Customer Care, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, Controlling, Merchandising, and other internal teams to ensure marketplace requirements and outbound SLAs are met.
• Support marketplace advertising activities, including monitoring performance, coordinating campaign details, and identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Assist with marketplace forecasting, product launches, promotional planning, and other initiatives as assigned.
• Support the onboarding, setup, testing, and launch of new marketplace channels as the business expands.
• Maintain accurate marketplace documentation, reporting, product information, and other operational records.
• Stay current on marketplace requirements, platform updates, competitive activity, and industry trends.
• Take ownership of assigned marketplace projects and responsibilities, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in e-commerce, online retail, marketplace management, or a related field, with hands-on experience supporting or managing one or more third-party marketplaces.
• Experience working with major e-commerce marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus, Nordstrom, Macy’s, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Strong understanding of marketplace operations, including product listings, content, inventory, promotions, fulfillment, and marketplace requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data, identify trends and issues, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets and marketplace performance reporting.
• Experience with marketplace platforms and management tools such as Mirakl, Rithum/ChannelAdvisor, Feedonomics, or similar systems.
• Experience with marketplace optimization, including product content, imagery, keywords, pricing, promotions, advertising, testing, forecasting, and inventory management.
• Experience troubleshooting marketplace listing, integration, fulfillment, or account-level issues.
• Amazon marketplace experience is a plus.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop or other image-editing tools is a plus.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple channels, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership while knowing when to escalate issues or seek direction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple internal and external teams.

The successful candidate will be able to independently manage day-to-day marketplace activities, identify issues and opportunities through data, implement improvements, and provide meaningful insights to the Marketplace Manager.

The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change. They should be able to manage multiple marketplace activities simultaneously, collaborate effectively across departments, and follow through on issues from identification through resolution.

This is an opportunity for someone with marketplace experience to take on greater responsibility and ownership while working closely with a Marketplace Manager and broader cross-functional team.
