TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Lafayette, Louisiana, 70503!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience required. - Must have post-operative experience. - Must have completed at least one travel contract. License: - Compact or state license required upon submission. Certifications: - ACLS required. - BLS required. Must-Have: - Experience in acute care and post-operative nursing. - Familiarity with surgical procedures and post-operative care. - Ability to manage surgical drains and wound care management. Description: This position involves working in a medical surgical unit that specializes in post-operative care. Candidates must have experience with a variety of patient diagnoses, including pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, and wound infections. Experience with special procedures such as pancreatectomy, esophagectomy, and colectomy is essential. Candidates will be expected to function as part of an emergency team as assigned by management. Skills in managing colostomy/ileostomy care and feeding tubes are preferred. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a patient ratio of 6:1 is required. Interdisciplinary support services will be available to assist in patient care. This is an inpatient unit focused on adult and geriatric patients. Travel experience is beneficial, and prior charge experience is not acceptable. Candidates should be prepared for flexibility in scheduling and potential float requirements. Compliance with vaccination requirements is mandatory.
