Maintenance Manager

Location: Lawrence, NY Salary: $100,000.00 USD Annually - $130,000.00 USD Annually We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to direct all facility maintenance operations, ensure plant safety and equipment reliability, and optimize production uptime within a regulated manufacturing environment. Shift Day Shift (Mon–Fri, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM; 10-hour days). Must have 24/7 on-call availability. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Direct, train, and develop maintenance supervisors and mechanics; manage workforce planning, shift coverage, and union personnel under the CBA. Operations & Preventative Maintenance: Oversee PM programs (CMMS) to minimize downtime, ensure equipment reliability, and maintain facility grounds and utility systems (steam, electric, HVAC, refrigeration, effluent pre-treatment). Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to safety, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and EPA regulations. Financial & Strategic Management: Manage the maintenance budget, oversee supply/parts procurement, and actively participate in capital project planning. Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and executive leadership on equipment upgrades, process improvements, and back up the Engineering Director when needed. Requirements Experience: Minimum 8 years of direct maintenance experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role. Industry Knowledge: Background in food manufacturing, safety regulations (GMP/HACCP), and union workforce management. Technical Skill: Proficiency with CMMS, work order systems, MS Office, and high mathematical/technical problem-solving abilities. Education: Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
