Cash Application Specialist

Everstaff is seeking an experienced Cash Accounting Specialist to be responsible for a variety of cash application and accounting support functions. This role focuses on processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate account records, preparing journal entries, and supporting reporting and reconciliation activities. The position also handles credit card processing, refunds, lockbox activity, and daily cash operations, along with assisting on special projects as needed. Direct hire opportunity! Salary: $42,000-$44,000 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8a-5pm Benefits offered!

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and reconcile daily lockbox and mailed deposits.
• Apply payments accurately to customer or account records.
• Research and resolve payment-related inquiries and discrepancies.
• Process credit card transactions, including payments and refunds.
• Maintain schedules for recurring credit card payments.
• Prepare and reconcile daily reports of online payment activity.
• Create and post journal entries related to payment transactions.
• Perform account adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare routine financial reports, including weekly collections reporting.
• Complete account reconciliations and assist with month-end processes.
• Upload and manage data imports into internal systems.
• Maintain organized records and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with internal teams on a regular basis.
• Support additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in an office or administrative environment.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience working with PDF editing tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
