Phlebotomy Technician I - NICU - 2nd Shift 50%

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection, and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy: labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. This position is 50 %- time, Monday-Friday, 2nd Shift from 1530-1930, with rotating holidays. Duties to include:

• Perform phlebotomy draws.
• Perform computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.
• Order, receive, and distribute supplies.
• Respond to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represent assigned and related work areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• High school graduation or equivalent.

Special Qualifications:

• Previous public contact/customer service experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience is desirable.
• Minimum 6 months previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable.
• Basic computer skills are desirable.
• Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable.
• Previous patient contact experience is desirable.
• Previous experience performing phlebotomy in a neonatal and/or pediatric setting is desired.
