Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Title

Job duties include evaluating and solving problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens for analysis, maintaining and documenting the optimal functioning of laboratory equipment, using, calibrating, identifying malfunctions, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment, diagnosing deviations in test performance due to instrument malfunction, performing and documenting quality control and quality improvement activities, adhering to practices and regulations governing biosafety and biosecurity in the workplace, identifying discrepancies, solving problems, and presenting solutions, interpreting results and identifying situations for repeat testing or recollection, assisting in the process of evaluation and implementation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory, incorporating principles of educational methodology in the instruction and training of new employees and students, communicating effectively and courteously while working as a healthcare team member, and organizing work and setting priorities to meet deadlines to meet departmental policies related to testing turnaround times.
