TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 174 Days - School Year (Summer School Hours Available as well)


START DATE: ASAP

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS

1. Illinois CDL License with passenger endorsement. Assistance and training is provided for eligible applicants.
2. Physical examination with drug and alcohol testing.
3. Criminal background check and fingerprinting.
4. Complete eight (8) hour course required by State of Illinois.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Report on time and begin route or trip when scheduled.
2. Operate a vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and McHenry Transportation Department procedure.
3. Provide safe transportation to and from school for all children.
4. Responsible for passenger management and timely reporting of incidents, accidents and student conduct reports.
5. Maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping.
6. Identify transportation hazards and promptly report.
7. Comply with established schedules, observes traffic ordinances, and be constantly aware of the safety needs of students.
8. Maintains and demonstrates a helpful, positive and pleasant attitude toward fellow co-workers, other school district employees and the general public.
9. Communicate professionally and effectively with school personnel, students, parents and the general public.
10. Demonstrate proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus.
11. Drive all vehicles and routes as determined by the transportation director or designee.

PAY AND BENEFITS

1. Starting rate $22.25/hour; minimum 5 hours a day guaranteed. Additional compensation can be provided for prior bus driver experience and valid CDL license.
2. Eligible for Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Pension (IMRF Pension).

5. District contribution to insurance plans.
