Line Cook
Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items safely, accurately, and
consistently while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. This position works closely
with the culinary team to ensure food is prepared to company standards and delivered promptly
during daily service and special events.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation
guidelines.
● Set up and stock assigned station before service.
● Maintain proper food quality, temperature, freshness, and presentation.
● Follow ticket orders accurately and work with urgency during service.
● Communicate with other kitchen stations to ensure orders are completed accurately and
on time.
● Complete assigned prep work and maintain appropriate product levels throughout the
shift.
● Follow proper food storage, labeling, dating, rotation, and temperature-control
procedures.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
● Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
● Minimize food waste and use proper portioning and product-handling procedures.
● Communicate low product levels, equipment issues, or food-quality concerns to the Chef
or manager.
● Assist with receiving, stocking, cleaning, and kitchen organization as needed.
● Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work duties.
Qualifications
● Previous line cook, restaurant, or food preparation experience preferred.
● Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety.
● Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion standards.
● Strong sense of urgency, organization, and attention to detail.
● Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a kitchen team.
● Food safety certification required or must be obtained as required by local regulations.
Performance Expectations
Line Cooks are expected to produce safe, consistent, high-quality food with urgency and
attention to detail while maintaining a clean station, controlling waste, and supporting a smooth
and efficient kitchen operation
