Quality Control Technician

Job TitleWorks in the Quality Control Department and has the skill level of a Senior QC Inspector/Technician. Performs mechanical inspection of precision-machined components and assemblies.Utilizes basic computer skills and demonstrates ability in geometry, trigonometry, and interpretation of ANSI Y14.5M. Follows procedures specific to products and specific to Quality Systems such as ISO. Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.Works under direct supervision:Performs visual inspections using workmanship standardsPerforms inspection of mechanical componentsFills out applicable QC documents per QC proceduresUses computer system dailyWorks under minimal supervision:Reviews supplier inspection data and collects data as requiredReads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications without general supervisionInterfaces with production personnelPerforms inspection (close tolerance) of mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished assemblies with supervisionPerforms inspection at supplier sites as requiredPerforms inspection on CMM machineInterfaces with design and manufacturing engineers and planners to resolve day-to-day issuesPerform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of businessAchievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility.
