Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Part Time Visitor Processing in Durham, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain an orderly environment for employees, visitors, and deliveries. You will remain visible, communicate professionally, and provide responsive customer service while supporting security-related operations. Job Schedule:
DayTimeTue04:00 PM - 12:00 AMThur04:00 PM - 12:00 AMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, issue visitor credentials as directed, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access control issues, unusual activity, and security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
