Surgical Technologist support patient care in the perioperative setting by assisting surgeons and nursing staff before, during and after surgical procedures. What you will do in this role:

• Assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
• Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintain the sterile field.
• Assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors, and manipulating the endoscopic camera.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
• CORT preferred
• BLS required
• One to two years previous OR experience preferred
