Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or certification to teach special education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a closely related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for collaborative work with students, families, and staff
- Classroom management expertise and adaptability to various learning needs
- Familiarity with current special education laws, regulations, and best practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging instruction tailored to students with individualized needs
- Develop and update IEPs in partnership with support staff, parents, and other professionals
- Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation as required by school policies
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Incorporate data-driven teaching strategies to maximize student achievement
- Engage parents and guardians as collaborative partners in the educational process
