Radiology Technologist - Torrance-BCO Ortho Clinic - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

Overview Provides radiology and back office support to a private practice ambulatory clinic. The role may be supervised by clinic staff including the director, manager, or supervisor. Responsibilities Perform and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures according to the department procedure manual. Plan and perform procedures considering patient physiologic and developmental age. Review radiographs for proper positioning, technique, and identification. Demonstrate working knowledge of all radiographic equipment in the department and assigned clinical areas. Use correct anatomic positioning skills and appropriate markers. Adjust technical factors in proportion to patient age and anatomy while minimizing radiation exposure. Process digital imaging cassettes with proper identification and return them to the correct location. Confirm patient identification by verbal communication, checking name and birthdate. Review doctors’ orders to ensure proper exam protocol is followed and the correct exam is performed. Recognize emergency situations, indicate code and administer aid as appropriate. Record pertinent patient information and complete all required paperwork. Maintain neat, orderly exam rooms and workstations, ensuring supplies are stocked. Assist with ordering and stocking department supplies and equipment. Perform related duties such as transporting patients, scheduling exams, and assisting in the file room as directed. Participate in after‑hours standby and call‑back as required. Use organizational skills and effective time management. Adapt to changing procedures and goals in a cooperative, positive manner. Maintain a cooperative atmosphere with other departments, medical staff, and employees. Mentor students and less experienced technologists. Serve as a positive ambassador when interacting with staff and departments. Communicate concerns through the proper chain of command. Manage work schedule hours including weekend rotations, standby, and callbacks. Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to policy. Introduce oneself to each patient and explain the exam to be performed. Participate in regular rotation of weekend hours as required. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High‑school diploma or equivalent. Specialized/technical training from an AMA‑approved school of radiologic technology (college‑affiliated or hospital‑trained). Ability to prioritize multiple high‑priority tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing English. Comfortable with computers and medical terminology. Technical skills to operate radiography equipment and computers. Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year as a radiology technologist. Previous acute‑hospital experience as a radiologic or student technologist. Licenses / Certifications Required Certified Radiologic Technologist (CADPH). Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training for Los Angeles City (must be obtained within 30 days if not already possessed). Registered Technologist – R.T.
