Payroll Clerk

Summary: Join our payroll team as a Payroll Clerk, responsible for daily data entry and assisting in accurate and timely weekly payroll processing. This role is critical to ensuring the precision of payroll records in a rapidly growing organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform daily payroll department operations efficiently.
• Manage workflows to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
• Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
• Process and comply with garnishments and child support calculations.
• Prepare accurate and timely year-end payroll reports when necessary.
• Develop financial and operational reports as needed.
• Calculate back pay and make check corrections.
• Address employee and employer payroll inquiries through research and resolution.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree in Business or Accounting required.
• Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
• Experience:
  • 4–6 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.
  • Strong understanding of child support income withholding orders (IWOs) and garnishments.
• Skills and Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other PC applications.
  • Familiarity with Paycom Payroll Software preferred.
