By combining our lending financial services business with private banking products built specifically to service the needs of Financial Advisors and their clients, we can tailor banking and lending solutions to client needs.We are seeking a high potential Commercial Real Estate Lending Transactor (AVP) to help grow and manage the Ultra High Net Worth (“UHNW”) Commercial Real Estate (“CRE") lending platform serving UHNW clients (generally clients with a minimum net worth of at least $50 million) of WM. The role is for the New York area and will support and collaborate with the UHNW Senior Lending Transactors (“SLTs”) and Asset Managers (“AMs”) throughout the US.Position SummaryPosition goal is to support the UHNW CRE Lending team, regional SLTs, AMs and its clients in managing and delivering the UHNW CRE product.Responsibilities will include the following:Support asset managers in the maintenance of Commercial Real Estate secured loans on Morgan Stanley’s balance sheet.Correspond directly with clients to request reporting requirements including property and personal financial reporting, at least quarterly throughout the lifecycle of a loanEngage in on-going portfolio maintenance including monitoring loan covenants, loan servicing, and ensuring accurate and timely update of loan portfolio metrics / reports.Conduct annual relationship and loan review memos to monitor collateral and loan performance during the term of the loan.Evaluate lending opportunities specific to commercial real estate, which will include activities such as: i) evaluating the obligors; ii) valuation of the underlying collateral; iii) determining if the opportunity aligns with the UHNW Commercial Real Estate lending program, and iv) drafting credit approval memos.Assist the SLT in efficiently managing the transaction cycle through final credit approval, documentation, closing and initial funding of the transaction ensuring timely coordination with all parties involved including credit risk, financial advisors, private bankers, loan operations, compliance, in-house and external legal counsel and any other party who is, or should be, involved in the specific transaction.Participate in ad hoc projects including IT, procedural, regulatory, audit as requiredContribute to the design and firmwide rollout of artificial intelligence tools supporting underwriting and asset management processes.ExperienceBachelor’s Degree required;Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in commercial real estate lending asset management, underwriting, origination and/or credit analysis, Private Banking Lending experience is a plusFormal credit training a plus.Demonstrated proficiency in either Excel, financial modeling, Power BI, Tableau, or Dataiku is a plus.Experience designing automated process flows utilizing Python or SQL is a plus.Skills/AbilitiesStrong communication skills with the ability to articulate your assessment in a clear and professional mannerDetail orientation with exceptional analytical skillsExperience using firm-approved AI tools to enhance analysis and productivity within governance frameworks preferred.Accounting and finance knowledgeAbility to meet deadlines and manage expectationsAbility to multi-taskGood collaboration skills in a team-oriented environmentWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
