Principal Human Factors Design Engineer

Medtronic seeks a Principal Human Factors Design Engineer to apply human-centered design principles to medical device development. The role involves leading research methodologies, designing usability tests, and mentoring junior specialists across product development phases in R&D.
Responsibilities
- Apply human-centered design principles to medical device and human-machine systems development
- Design and execute usability validation tests with intended users across product lifecycle
- Develop research methodologies and analysis plans for concept testing and prototype evaluation
- Identify technological risks and conduct human factors investigations to inform design direction
- Coach and delegate work to lower-level specialists; manage large cross-functional projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years relevant human factors or design experience
- Master's degree with 5+ years relevant experience, or PhD with 3+ years
- Expertise in human-centered design principles and methodologies
- Experience designing and executing usability validation studies with users
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research analysis
- Track record managing complex projects and mentoring technical staff
