Document Negotiator - Fixed Income Division - Associate or Vice President

Documentation Negotiator – Fixed Income Division Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division (FID) within the Institutional Securities Group (ISG) seeks a Documentation Negotiator focused on ISDA and repo agreements. Primary Responsibilities Draft and negotiate legal trading documentation, including master agreements, credit support documents, amendments and ancillary documents across a broad spectrum of financial products. Focus on ISDA Master Agreements and associated documents, and repurchase agreements including required documentation for sponsored clearing. Act as point person for an active book of client negotiations, coordinating daily interactions with internal stakeholders, clients and outside counsel. Collaborate with Sales & Trading, Credit Risk, Risk Management, Legal, Operations and other internal stakeholders to define documentation terms, handle escalations and prioritize tasks. Ensure strict adherence to established policies and procedures. Required Competencies Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, detail‑oriented and thorough. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and maintain transparency throughout negotiations. Ability to plan, organize and deliver results within tight timeframes. Ability to work collaboratively on group projects and independently on individual assignments. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Mature and professional demeanor. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, open trading floor environment. Experience 1+ year(s) of experience in an investment bank or law firm negotiating trading documentation, with an emphasis on the ISDA Master Agreement and/or repurchase agreements. Demonstrated proficiency with ISDA Agreements and/or repurchase agreements. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (required). Law Degree (preferred). Expected base pay ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 per year for Associates and $140,000 to $250,000 per year for Vice Presidents at commencement, with additional total compensation components such as commission, incentive and discretionary bonuses.
