Medical Director (FT - Boston)

Job Summary We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Director for the Suffolk County House of Correction in Boston, MA. Responsibilities Provide timely and appropriate medical care of the inmate patient population in accordance with community and national standards of care. Provide overall supervision of clinical staff services. Works collaboratively on clinical matters with internal and external medical providers and vendors. Evaluate the healthcare needs of the inmate population, reviews, and approves clinical policies, protocols, current medical programs, and emergency plans as necessary (at least annually). Acts as the health care program’s clinical representative with visitors, in discussions, meetings and audit and accreditation reviews. Adhere to, safely enforces, and follows security procedures and regulations for security related policies and procedures, key control, sharps inventories and controlled substances. No on-call duties required. No travel required. Schedule Full-time 40 hours a week Day shift, Monday-Friday, flexible hours Salary $400,000 per year Qualifications & Education Medical Degree Must possess a current Massachusetts license. Current DEA registration must be in good standing. Must be Board Certified/eligible or qualified by state laws and regulations to practice medicine. Experience in primary care specialty in corrections or managed care delivery preferred. Hold current CPR certification. Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds. Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
