Project Specialist (SC - DSPS)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Director of DSPS (Disabled Students Programs and Services), the Project Specialist will support a temporary project focused on preparing DSPS student records for a transition to a new database system, AIM, scheduled for implementation in 2026. This effort follows an audit that highlighted the need to clean and update current records in the SAM system. The position is temporary and is anticipated to continue through the end of the current fiscal year.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

Review and update DSPS student records currently stored in the SAM database.

Identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and outdated information.

Organize and categorize electronic and paper files.

Scan, file, and maintain confidential documents.

Enter data into databases and track progress on record updates.

Communicate with DSPS staff to verify and clarify information, as needed.

Generate basic reports related to data cleanup and record accuracy.

Assist with general clerical and administrative duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

High school diploma or equivalent.

Some college coursework is preferred, particularly in office administration, data management, or a related field. Previous experience in clerical work, data entry, or administrative support is highly desired.
