Pharmacy Technician
Memorial hospital AND MANOR
Description Assist in the packaging, labeling, preparation, and delivery of pharmaceutical products under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and to provide technical support in all phases of drug distribution; assist with clerical and supply functions. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Georgia Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration, required. Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program, preferred, certification preferred. Experience Previous experience with a dedicated pharmacy computer system, hospital pharmacy computer system preferred. IV preparation experience preferred. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Comprehends and applies an understanding of drug and dosage forms. Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology. Experience operating computerized medication dispensing technology (IOmnicell, Pyxis, etc) preferred. Works accurately under stress with time constraints. Must concentrate and pay attention to detail and demonstrate an ability to meet deadlines. Performs work skills carefully and accurately. Ability to solve day-to-day problems in conjunction with the pharmacist. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with nurses and patients.
