Company Description JC Grounds Management is a professional Snow & Ice and Landscape Management company focused on helping facility managers, property managers, and building owners achieve their short- and long-term site goals. Each season, the team develops cohesive, site-specific plans that leverage extensive snow and ice management expertise, including forecasting, storm planning, de-icing, walkway clearing, and snow relocation. Role Description The Winter season Area Manager is a part-time, on-site role based in Southborough, MA, overseeing snow and ice operations across assigned properties. In this role, the Area Manager coordinates crews and equipment before, during, and after winter events, ensuring that roadways, parking lots, and walkways are cleared and treated according to site-specific plans and safety standards. Responsibilities include monitoring weather forecasts, executing storm plans, inspecting job sites for quality and compliance, documenting work completed, and communicating with internal teams and client contacts throughout each event. The Area Manager will support logistics such as equipment staging, material usage tracking, and post-storm cleanup, while promptly addressing issues or hazards. This role requires active presence during winter storms, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to maintain safe and accessible sites. Qualifications Experience in snow and ice management or related field operations, including coordinating crews, equipment, and site activities. Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple properties, schedules, and site-specific storm plans. Ability to assess site conditions, identify safety hazards, and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements. Effective communication skills for working with crew members, supervisors, and client representatives, including clear reporting and documentation. Comfort working outdoors in winter conditions and availability for variable hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during storm events. Basic proficiency with mobile devices or software for time tracking, site reporting, and accessing forecasts or route information. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and between job sites; eligibility to operate light equipment is preferred.
