Come join our team if you're looking to make a positive impact on our local community.What SCAP offers for you!Paid Personal TimePaid Sick TimeCompany HolidaysMedical InsuranceDental & Vision Insurance403(b) with Company Match!Flexible Spending AccountsReferral ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Parental LeaveAND MORE!ResponsibilitiesSupervises the daily activities for assigned groups of classrooms or center ensuring quality of educational services and implementation of approved curriculum.Supervises classroom staff ensuring appropriate trainings are obtained and reinforced, agency best practices and policies are implemented, conducts timely and accurate performance evaluations, and develops and monitors works schedules.Provides direct oversight for managing early childhood screenings, referrals, assessments, and special education service provision for those children who qualify including providing supports for families and staff.Coordinates with Early Intervention organizations and local school departments; advocates for children and families at meetings; supports classroom/home visiting staff in their provision of services for children with special needs by providing observations, hands-on modeling of recommended strategies, and resource and referral information for staff and families.Ensures staff conducts home visits in a timely manner, provides support to ensure high quality parent communications during meetings and home visits. Ensures the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) on a timely basis and facilitates team meetings. Ensures adequate documentation of team meetings and follow through of decisions.Facilitates and manages parent activities, maintains and distributes as directed the records of each meeting and encourages maximum participation of parents. Ensures quality communication to and from the parent committees. Ensures appropriate approvals are in place prior to implementing and that policies are followed with respect to parent committee.Responsible for actively assisting the Education Coordinator and working as a team to ensure the component is meeting its goals. Clearly communicates within the team and with the management team and colleagues.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education. Master’s Degree and certification to include the Pre-K population preferred.A minimum of three (3) years classroom teaching experience and experience providing and coordinating direct services to pre-school children.A minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.Demonstrated computer expertise; consistently upgrading skills to remain up to date on the use of technology in the classroom and the workplace.Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and the ability lead a team.Must provide on a biennial basis a physical from a licensed health care provider, clearing you under New York State Day Care regulations.Background check is required prior to employment as required by NYS Day Care regulations and Federal Head Start Performance Standards.Knowledge and understanding of issues related to individuals and families in poverty.
