Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Burn ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts, may work between the hours of 19:00-07:30. Every other weekend and some holidays are required. ICU experience is required. Epic experience is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are required (AHA only). Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting. This is an experienced inpatient Registered Nurse position. Practice as part of a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team on an 11-bed acuity adaptable unit. Provide compassionate care to both adult and pediatric patients who may have chemical, electrical, scald, thermal burns, and/or complex wounds in the critical care setting. Be part of a Level One Trauma Center and a verified adult and pediatric burn center. Travelers may be assigned to burn patients, but would not be asked to perform burn care. The role requires ICU experience; burn experience is not necessary. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience requirements entail two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty. A telemetry exam is required prior to starting. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: Identification of lethal rhythms including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole must be achieved with no incorrect answers on questions regarding third-degree heart blocks. A passing score of 80% or higher is required. Attempts: Travelers will have two chances to pass. If the traveler fails the second attempt, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course will be necessary before a third attempt is assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts, the assignment will be cancelled. This facility is recognized as a leading hospital and referral center, holding a Magnet designation.
