Logistics Manager

A growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and optimize material flow, transportation, shipping and receiving, yard operations, inventory control, and logistics personnel at its Mojave-area facility.

This is a highly operational leadership position responsible for ensuring raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products move safely and efficiently throughout the facility and are delivered in accordance with production schedules and customer commitments. The Logistics Manager will work closely with Production, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Quality, Finance, and other key departments to improve plant performance and overall supply chain execution.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on logistics leader from a heavy industrial or complex manufacturing environment who is comfortable leading teams, solving operational challenges in real time, and building scalable processes within a fast-paced operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day plant logistics, including receiving, internal material movement, staging, material handling, yard operations, and outbound shipments.
• Manage inbound and outbound transportation, carrier relationships, freight providers, scheduling, and shipping documentation.
• Ensure efficient material flow throughout the facility while identifying and eliminating operational bottlenecks.
• Oversee yard organization, loading/unloading, staging, and safe movement of heavy industrial materials.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and establish effective material-control and traceability processes.
• Lead, coach, develop, and hold logistics personnel accountable for safety, productivity, quality, attendance, and performance.
• Monitor transportation costs, freight performance, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, shipment performance, and other logistics KPIs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs, overtime, material damage, inventory loss, and shipment delays while improving overall efficiency.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, and material-handling requirements.
• Partner cross-functionally with plant leadership to support production schedules, customer commitments, and continued operational growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, shipping/receiving, or material management.
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience within steel, metals, heavy industrial manufacturing, construction materials, or a comparable manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing material flow within a manufacturing or industrial facility.
• Strong knowledge of transportation, shipping/receiving, inventory control, loading/unloading, staging, and material-handling operations.
• Experience leading hourly employees in an industrial environment.
• Strong operational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience utilizing operational metrics and KPIs to improve performance.
• ERP, WMS, TMS, inventory management, or production-planning system experience preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
