Certified Medical Assistant

Position: Certified Medical Assistant Location: Winston-Salem, NC Pay: $25/hour Type: Full-time; Direct Hire Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a-5p, rotating monthly saturday shift 730-12p Greene Resources is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join a growing and dynamic team!The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for providing high-quality clinical and administrative support to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and patients throughout their fertility treatment journey. The CMA plays a vital role in ensuring efficient clinic operations while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Patient Care Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for provider visits. Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints. Prepare patients for examinations and in-office procedures. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures. Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, injections, and other clinical duties within certification and state regulations. Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Clinical Operations Prepare examination and procedure rooms before and after patient visits. Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment. Ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary. Perform quality control checks on clinical equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and safe patient care areas. Fertility Treatment Support Assist with fertility monitoring appointments. Prepare laboratory specimens for transport. Coordinate patient flow for ultrasounds, laboratory testing, and provider appointments. Assist with IVF, IUI, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and minor office procedures as directed. Support patients through sensitive and emotionally challenging aspects of fertility care with empathy and professionalism. Documentation Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR). Enter provider orders as directed. Review patient charts for completeness. Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Communication Answer patient questions within scope of practice. Return patient phone calls and electronic portal messages promptly. Coordinate with nursing staff, physicians, embryology, laboratory, billing, and front office teams. Communicate professionally with outside laboratories, pharmacies, and referring physician offices. Administrative Support Assist with scheduling appointments when necessary. Obtain medical records and outside laboratory results. Process referrals and authorizations as assigned. Scan and upload documents into the EMR. Compliance Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and infection control standards. Maintain current certification and required continuing education. Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical medical assistant experience preferred. Women's health, OB/GYN, infertility, reproductive medicine, or surgical practice experience strongly preferred. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Experience using electronic medical records. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent patient care and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to maintain professionalism during emotionally sensitive patient interactions. Knowledge of medical terminology. Basic understanding of fertility treatments is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
